Centre for Novel Agricultural Products (CNAP) in November 2005 won a Queen's Anniversary Award for "work of exceptional quality and of broad benefit either nationally or internationally".
Xceleron Ltd., a University spin-out company, which provides specialist contract research services to speed up drug development to the pharmaceutical industry, has received a £2M investment from Close Venture Management and Foursome Investments. This example illustrates the University of York's growing success in encouraging innovation and support for science-based and high technology businesses.
Nanoquanta Network of Excellence, an international collaboration part-funded by the European Union's Framework Programme Six, will create a permanent European Theoretical Spectroscopy Facility (ETSF) on the lines of the synchrotron facilities successfully shared by researchers across Europe.
